Child and Family ClinicPlus
In our Child and Family ClinicPlus Program, RMHA served approximately 70 children, adolescents and families with much-needed clinical services at eight area schools, where RMHA operates New York State Office of Mental Health-licensed satellite sites. This innovative program improves the emotional well-being of children by providing early intervention and treatment, which helps to improve school performances and social relationships and prevent mental health problems.
ClinicPlus provides free screenings and works with the family to pinpoint a child’s individual needs. Research shows that early intervention has a profound impact on a child’s emotional growth and development.

Consultation
RMHA clinicians and staff provide consultation to community agencies and school staff. We observe and assess students for mental health and behavioral challenges, provide individual and group counseling to students and make referrals for ongoing care where indicated. Services are individualized for each school and student.
Through this program, we are able to reach a group of children and adolescents who have a strong need for services but are not likely to access services through traditional means.
In 2009-2010, RMHA provided on-site assessments, counseling and referral services to students at various Bronx schools. In addition, consulting services were made available to staff at these schools.
